Swapping Xenon headlamp ballast to replacement ...any issues
I had to replace a headlamp assembly in my 06 CTT since the collar that holds the turn signal lamp cracked. I need to swap the existing ballast and xenon bulb into the replacement headlamp. Is it just matter of plugging it in and securing them in place? Will the leveling still be good? Any shock hazards from hi-volt capacitors?

Should just be a bolt it up and go thing - but there may be a baseline adjustment to the beam height. I seem to recall an adjustment that could be made with an allen wrench. To get the new one correctly adjusted - I'd suggest pulling up about 5 feet away from a garage door or wall. Turn on the light and put a piece of blue painters tape at the top of the beam cutoff. Then back up 10 feet and repeat, again marking the top of the beam. Should be simple enough to adjust the new one once installed to give the same result in beam height.

Finished the basic swap and the level looked good but I could hear the leveling motor. Never heard it in the original. I'll need to pull it again to polish fhe lenses and replace the outer seal strip when I figure out how to get it off wjthout destroying it. Don't have to worry about a ticket now.
