Question oil change, tire pressure etc

Hi,

just scheduled an apppointment for the cayenne - she is high maintenance!! I asked about oil changes, up to now thinking that 20,000 was the milestone, but the service rep told me that they had made halved the change due mileage to 10,000. does that sound about right? I also inquired about tire pressure and they told me 35 all around.

thanks and hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season and merry peppering!!

James

P.S JOE @ Fabspeed scheduled me in for the by pass pipes and the REMUS exhaust ont he 29th so I will be sure to let you guys know

35 all around is not right for any recommended tire size on the Cayenne. I know you don't have the tire pressure monitor because it would be fussing at you about that low pressure.

follow the tire pressures on the door panel.

The service manager at my dealer told me to carry a quart of Mobil Synthetic oil and to check and top off at every tank refill. It apparently burns oil.

Also suggested an extra Oil change at 7500mi.

There seems to be some variation in reported oil usage. For myself, I have 10k miles and I have used zero oil. It was right on the full mark when I bought it and it's still there. I have not changed or added oil.

Turbo, that dealer sounds crazy!!!! I was just in for a few recall items for some tranny seals and something with the ebrake. Nothing that was wrong that I noticed, but they were recall items that my dealer contacted me about. Mine is an MY03. I did the oil change...My first one and it was at 12,000 miles. Porsche has NOT changed the service intervals nor the oil pressure recommendations...38F/41Rear.
Best thing was they addresssed the lurch/lag issue. It was unclear whether it was an ecu re-flash or software update, but they said there was a TSB on it.

***It drives like a different car...instanstaneous throttle repsonse and no lag/lurch when coming out of a sharp turn slowly....It's sooo smooth and responsive. If anyone has this issue, get it resolved...It's definately worth it.***

Happy Holidays everyone!!! :-)

She's purring like a baby. Just finished break in...1200 miles. Had her dynoed last week, developed 350 rear wheel hp or approx 400 at he crank. Just received my custom exhaust(race cats/mufflers) from Belgium(Europipe). It will sound sweet and add an additional 12hp. Happy holidays!!

I noticed the TT burn oil as well. Funny thing is that mine came with 2 quarts of Mobil 0W-40 in the left rear storage compartment....

It doesn't leave the factory like that. It sounds like you bought from a good dealer...

The turbo needs lube also...
