Default HPFP stopper .... Fell apart

Hi Guys,

I was doing the HPFP and the stopper was all messed up... I fished out most of the pieces but I'm sure that some went in to engine ...

Should I remove cover and look for the little chunks ?

Has anyone had same issue ? What have you done ?

Left it in engine
removed cover

Thx

I'd pull the manifold and check for pieces. Is saving an hour really worth the risk of having particles go into your engine?

Manifold is off .... You mean valve cover .... Issues is that finding it even with valve cover off are slim ... I'm not moving camshaft lol

I bet that this happens to everyone that done hpfp ... That plastic is worse the dollar store plastic cups

Very common for that to fall apart when doing that job. I usually use a 90 degree pick to slide the remnants of the old stopper from the cam with a 90 degree pick. FWIW I've never seen or heard of any issues from pieces falling into the cylinder head. I wouldn't lose sleep over it.
