Default Cayenne S 2003 Driver Power Seat (no memory) doesn't recline

My driver side front seat is not reclining. All other power functions work, as well as all passenger side functions. The seats have no memory.
My service at the dealer told me it's the switch that is on the left side of the seat. I think they're wrong.
  1. I bought a new switch when plugged it in, the recline still didn't work. So, I send 12V current directly to the pins #11,12 of the harness that goes out of the switch to the motor, and the motor worked, seat was reclining.
  2. I plugged the old switch from the driver side into the harness on the passenger side, and all function worked including reclining.
So, I think I established that the current is delivered into the motor through the wires that go into the harness; and that it is not the switch.

What could be the reason for the reclining function not working?
