No offense intended...I was just thinking of the huge differences between myself and my son.
I was a senior in HS when Pong came out - he has never known a world without video games, without the internet, without a home computer (or 4), without so many things that we never imagined when we grew up.
On the other hand, my parents are the perfect Porsche demographic for a Cayenne buyer and they can't get rid of a pop-up and my mother is in morbid fear of online pornography.
When I was young, I would talk with my grandmother and have her tell me of all the incredible changes she had seen in her life.
Now I am REALLY going to have stories for my grandkids...

No offence taken DC. BTW you're absolutely right about most older people. I was joking.
Personally I got my first computer in '81 (a pc), because I was hearing the rush of progress. It helped my productivity in my biz for years before my peers realized they (computers) weren't going away.

No one taking offense down in this neck of the woods! I was just trying to bait anyone to see if they had been doing this technology stuff as long as I have. First one to tell me how to pronounce 7070 (OK, here's a hint - it's IBM-speak), has a shot at ........ a chance to win an 8" floppy disk!
I was happy as a clam when my 81 year-old mother decided she needed a WebTV setup. Being the good (geek) son, I ran right out and bought one, got it installed and handed the controls over to my 12 year-old to give her lessons. I headed home that weekend confident that I had helped one more person join the connected world ......THEN the remote help desk calls began flooding in!
Anyway, to the REAL topic at hand, 48, two teenage sons living with their mother in Houston, remarried (two type A's in the house ), driving my third Porsche - 1) a 1974 911 Ducktail (sadly sold last January), 2) a 1979 930 (almost as draining to the pocketbook as a teenager), and my Cayenne S.
If I read those marketing studies, I guess I'm one of Porsche's targets!

How could you all have been on the internet for so many years? I thought Al Gore invented the internet while he was pretending to be vice president just recently.
As for myself, 35 and going backwards.
Occupation: what is that? Spend most of my time at the office trying to figure out what I should do. Usually, it's on the internet looking up cars or figuring out the next entertaining thing to do with friends - hosting Cayenne gatherings or other trips or outings. Oh, yeah, just finished developing a golf course resort and looking for more deals.
Haven't really kept a car longer than 2 years. Usually 6 months to 1 year at most (that includes 6 BMW's, 5 Mercedes, 2 Land Rovers, Porsche, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Audi, Lexus, numerous other SUVs). However, I told my wife that this Cayenne is a keeper (until I trade for the Turbo that is). For some reason, she doesn't seem to believe me. Now if that Aston AMV8 would just get here before 2005, I promise I won't buy another car until then (fingers crossed behind back).

LOL - I heard exact the same words from my wife hehe
it`s magic that girlies have same thoughts even if near 7K miles are between them :-)

I triple those sentiments, except that I bought the TT. She thinks something else will be out by then that I "just have to get."
You gotta love her just for putting up with me! :-)

Let's see...computer programmer, single, two cool kats, 40 when I got the Cayenne, my first contraction of the P disease, turned 41, got a GT3...Hopefully, when I turn 42, the CGT will be in my garage. Opps, no delivery until 2005, so I guess I will be 43....LOL, just kidding, the CGT is just a distant dream for the moment!!!

Although I'm not a Cayenne owner (not yet, at least), my wife and I are still debating whether or not we should get one next year. We love our 2002 Audi allroad, but I do like the fact that the Cayenne can pull 7k lbs, and this makes it a great tow vehicle (or least that would be my rationale)! The Audi can only pull 3,300 lbs. I would like to start tracking my C4S sometime next year and it would be nice to have a tow vehicle.

PS: btw, I'm a 39-year old professional with a beautiful wife, and two fantastic kids (8 & 2).

Well, I seem to fit the demographic (at least of this list) fairly well. 33 year old male with 2 kids. This is my first Porsche. While I like "traditional" Porsches for lapping days at Willow Springs I can't stand driving them around the city. I got rid of my X5 4.4 right after I test drove the Cayenne. Before the X5 I drove an Audi A6 4.2, while I really liked the Audi I had to be too careful driving it around town. I can't tell you how many times I bottomed it out. I ended up buying the TT because it's faster than the Audi and more rugged than the X5.
None of my friends could understand why I bought a Cayenne, but within a minute of driving it and a second after wiping the smiles of their faces they all GET IT! A good friend of mine who just got a 04 E55 keeps begging me to trade cars.
Oh and one more thing... After my wife finally drove the car one afternoon she said, now she knows why I've been offering to get her coffee on Sunday mornings and why I go to the furthest Starbucks I can find.

I suppose I'll chime in, 38 y.o. professional, no kids, soon to be divorced. absolutley in love with Cayenne, in theory. Must have features PASM, PCM, Bi-Xenon, Electric Comfort Package with seat memory. Heated seats and steering wheel. Did not get parking heater with timer but its now available.
Cayenne is my second Porsche, '99 Boxster blk blk blk.
