Anyone recognize this IMS cover?
Hi all, I'm shopping Boxster 2.7/3.2 engines for a 996 911(eek I know, I'm going to save up for something with more oomph but want it on the road), anyways, I've been trying to keep an eye on the IMS covers for signs of already retrofitted cars.
Anyone know what kind of kit this cover came from? It doesn't have the stock numbers but also doesn't look like an LN cover. Anyone have an idea?

The pics I've seen of the factory IMSB flanges all have part number cast in the outside surface. The one in the pic you posted as you noted doesn't have the part number.
However, the symbol I believe is the same as the one that is at the beginning of the two factory (shallow dish, deep dish) IMSB flanges.
All I can think of is at some point flanges were made without the part number cast in then they were or vice versa.
That's all I have.
Wait. I just happened to have a pic of my 2.7l 2002 Boxster's IMSB flange and it looks just like the one above. The pic's a bit out of focus but I think you can see the flange clearly.
Thus it appears the engine you are looking at has the factory flange and probably the factory IMSB.
