Beta Testers Needed for Bluetooth Conversion
We have designed a kit that has all components/tools needed to easily and permanently add Bluetooth to the stock radio head unit (sacrifices multi-disc CD changer if installed). Head unit tested is a Becker CR-220 (non-MOST) in my 2002 Turbo. Other head units are candidates as well (e.g. Becker Traffic Pro, Mexico CD (7803, CC4325, CC4327, CD4337, CC4370), CR-22, CDR-22, CR-220, CDR-220). This will be nearly plug and play, no wire cutting, with a very small Bluetooth receiver that resides in or near the console storage shelf/cubby. This device can switch tracks during music play and receive cell phone calls. Beta cost will be 1/2 of retail price. In exchange for being a beta tester, we’ll need feedback/photos of the installation and suggested opportunities for improvement. Email or PM me if interested (see below).

Jay, thanks for joining my thread here too. There is a set of electrical connectors on the back of the 2003+ CDR23 MOST head unit. At least that is what I see on multiple web searches.

No Problem. Not trying to bash your project, just we all need to the best of our ability post correct info.
Many on these forums read part of a thread and take it as 100% correct right off the bat
My understanding is the latest model radio in a 986 was a CDR-23 which does not have analog interconnections, only MOST for amps and CD changer.
I have an 04 with a CDR-23. I believe that the CDR-24 started in 05 with the 987
***** corrected model numbers

Jay,
'03 was the first year for the optical bus on the audio system for the Boxster. Your '04 should have the CDR 23 that uses the MOST optical bus for the input to the amplifier and CD changer (if you have it). You will see the orange optical "cables" going to the amplifier. The '05s use the CDR 24
In my '03 S I have a Densio interface for the optical bus that has an Apple interface that goes in place of the CD changer. The control from the radio is kind of hard to learn, but it works OK.

Got the first feedback from a Beta installer into a Boxster. Took him around 30 minutes based on what I can tell, and he seems quite satisfied. That was nice to hear.
