Default 2000 Boxster S interior wear?

Looking to get back into the Porsche fold after a few years hiatus. I sold my 964C2 after my baby girl was born in 2012. Now hoping to get a nice 986 S

Had a look at a few which were nice extenally, but the interiors were often pretty badly scratched up on the centre console and door panels etc.

Just wondering iof this is the norm? Or are the examples I saw just exceptionally worn. All the ars were under 100k miles. Is it possible to repaint the panels inside most prone to wear and if so what are people using?

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Had 2, Third owner each time. One around 30k miles, one at 42k. Both interiors were pristine.

Now if someone with a lot of arm jewelry were an owner ...

^^^True enough, lol!^^^
There is something about the matt finish on those pieces that can scratch easily but if looked after shouldn't be excessive.
Mine is a 2000 with just under 60000 miles and only has a couple of marks, just enough to tell me it can happen.
I often equate a beat up interior with a car that's generally not been looked after in all aspects. Just my 2cents however.
There are lots out there so you should be able to be picky and find a nice one.
Good luck with the search.

I have a 01 S model original owner with 20K. Some of the soft touch plastic is I think a bit prone to scratching bit not excessively so. Although Mike's post above about arm jewelry is probably pertinent. Also if you have an original radio of this vintage the ***** tend to get a bit sticky feeling over time, I have replaced my ***** 3 times.

Have a '99 with 102k and interior is pristine, however I've seen quite a few with crewed up interiors as you've described. One in particular was owned by a middle aged women who let her dog run around the interior on drives.

I would not buy any Porsche with a rough interior as I also believe that's the biggest tell-tale indicator of abuse and neglect. So many Boxsters made, no need to settle.

Beautiful place that Isle. Lucky enough to visit this past June.

Seal grey is not the most common color, one of my favorites though. Get good tires, you know you need em.
