boot wont open

boot wont open
new here so forgive me if this has been asked before. my 2002 Boxster rear boot lid wont open. it is a uk car and i need to locate the emergency release. solenoid operates but no action. does anyone have any pictures or walkthroughs.

Have you tried, with the help of an assistant, to active the rear trunk release, and manually open the lid?
I think the emergency release cable is behind one of the tail lights?? Not sure, nor which one. Good luck. Someone here will know.

thanks mate tried that, need to locate cable. have seen picture showing where it is on left hand drive car but not sure if its the same side here. someone also said it may be behind bumper.

decided to try all possible areas and got lucky first time.
removed wheel, back left corner, uk passenger side. one bolt to remove from liner towards rear of car. pulled it forward and reached around behind to find loop of wire and pulled firmly. release cable had snapped from boot release. crimped on new loop of wire to snapped end with electrical crimping tool
