Default Manual Trans Fluid Change

So it seems this topic is beat to hell. I purchased a 2000 Boxster S last Fall (2015) Currently it is in storage. It has a pretty clear service history, but do NOT see a manual trans fluid change in a while. After extensive reading, I am leaning towards using the Porsche OEM Fluid (999-917-546-00), and dont mind paying the extra $'s for it. Question is do I need 3 or 4 Liters, not seeing a clear answer.

P.S> Anyone have experience with PowerTech Repair center in Rockaway NJ?
I hear GREAT things about them.

Thanks
Happy Boxstering.

You will need 3 litres of fluid for the 6 speed transmission.
I cant help you with Power Tech - NJ is a long way from Australia......

In both cars I use the OEM fluid. The Boxster 5-speed has almost 300K miles on it so the fluid is pretty good I think.

BTW, for the 5-speed, and probably even for the S and its 6-speed, the dealer tranny fluid change is a bargain. For my Boxster the labor is just 0.3 hour.

My Turbo's 6-speed requires a bit more labor, I can't recall the number now, as it has some extra panels to remove to gain access to the transmission drain/fill points. And there is a front diff that needs fluid servicing too.

You might want to try Aspen Autosports in Randolph. Very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Very happy with the work they just completed on my transmission.
