Default Love the sound - K&N and Desnorkeled

I desnorkeled my Boxster and also installed a K&N air filter, all I can say is WOW, this sounds so much better then stock. Once the engine reaches 4000RPM's it just sounds Awesome!

I noticed my Stock air filter was WAY over due for a change, so I decided to buy a K&N at the local auto store. It is Well worth the extra money.

Not sure if I got any more HP, but the sound alone is worth the time to install the K&N and Desnorkel the intake.

Feels a little quicker...

Well the sound clip does sound pretty good, but it does no justice to hearing the EVO in person. I'm sure Q would agree.

I would really like to get an EVO, but the time for desnorkeling and the
price of the K&N Filter was under $50.

So in the interim my setup sounds nice, but my goal is to get an EVO in the Boxster, I would really be then.

If I only had more money!

I desnorkeled and installed an EVO with a cold-air intake box on my S a year ago, and it's been totally worth the cost (and the 5+ hours it took to remove the old filter box and install the new one!). I also chipped it... no question there's a difference, in power and sound. I got it all from Rennsport Systems: www.rennsportsystems.com. Chip was about $1K, intake assembly about $375.

A question, though- does anyone know how often I need to clean/oil the filter... and how to do it?

An Air filter change/ cleaning depends on the environment in which you drive your car. Is it dusty where you drive, near sand , beach's, dirt roads?

Do you drive year round?

Depends, but as a average I would say every 7K to 15K miles.
