Window will not go down when door is opened
Guys,
I'm trying to get my car ready for the nice weather and want to address a problem that I was experiencing before I put the car in the garage for the winter.
My passenger door window will not lower when the door is opened. I am able to push it down once the door is opened and it goes back up automatically when the door is closed.
I've looked for a thread in this forum, but can't seem to find one. Any suggestions or direction would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Charlooch

that's usually a microswitch in the door latch.
you can try removing it and cracking it open to clean it, but most shops will just replace it.

If it's not the microswitch, then it's probably the window regulator. Search "986 window regulator" - I just replaced one in my driver door. It's a fairly common issue in a 986.

Does the window go up and down with the window switch? If so, it's the microswitch. There is a microswitch on the inside door panel that makes it dip from the inside, and a microswitch on the door latch that makes it dip from the outside. Try the door from the inside and outside to see which one is broken. The exterior one is built into the latch assembly and I think about $200, so hopefully it's the interior one.
