Default Coolant reservoir quick-disconnect repair

The plastic quick disconnect pictured becomes brittle with heat exposure.
It is in the bowels of the engine bay & easiest to access from underneath the car.
Press the metal disconnect ring hard ,wiggle and pull gently apart.Well that is the theory.Mine snapped.
Before you try this it may be wise to get a repair piece?
Here's the simple temporary fix. A piece of scrap aluminum or stainless steel tube .It needs to be at least 4" long. The o.d. is 9 or 10mm ,so 9/16" or 5/8" o.d.If it seems a little tight ,just slightly chamfer the ends and apply liquid soap as lubricant.I doubled up the spring clamps because I really do not want it to slide off !
A much better long term solution is a barbed brass hose mender of the correct size:

NAyyy
I hope this helps others,it worked for me.

The screw in the photo is the 'tool' I used to extract the broken piece(extreme right in photo) from the hose. Any screw that fits tight will work.Just do not over-tighten or you'll crack the brittle plastic again and possibly leave shards in the hose.
