Default Paranoid...

My 2003 Boxster S was in a small accident, and afterwards i took it to Numme Autobody in New York...

the insurance appraisal said that the headlight/washer were to be replaced (even though there were only a few scratches on them)

after i picked up the car after the repair, I noticed that they hadn't replaced those two items (even though they did a great job on the paint/body repair...)

after a few angry phone calls, they admitted to lying about replacing the items...

now i'm paranoid if they may have gone the extra mile and say... swapped out certain parts on my car with older ones/etc...

is it possible for a shop to swap a 2002's engine with a 2003's ? in the span of 4 days? - is there any way to tell?

thanks!

If they charged the Insurance Company for "new items", that could be fraud.

If that is the case, you have just opened up a can of worms for them.

I wouldn't feel comfortable talking my car there to have work done.

I would assume that if they lie about one thing..they lie about everything.

Call your insurance company and the State AG and let them deal with it.

Take pictures.

thanks guys,

the thing is,

the washer and headlight only had minor scratches, so im guessing their mentality was "he'll never notice" - but i did...

their body work was excellent however... im just afraid that they may have gone the EXTRA mile and 'butchered' my baby...
