Bought a BOXTY!

Bought a BOXTY!
Just wanted to say hi.
My name is Tommy and I bought myself a Boxster this past summer. And I'm glad I did. 52k, no IMS upgrade.
It's a 2000 S in silver w/ black interior. Glass rear window and stock everything else. Perfect, to me.
I am coming off a decade long dry spell of Porsche in my life. My first Porsche was when I was 18. I restored a 73.5 911t. Ran it hard for 6 years before focusing on getting my life together. The boxster has been a great and rewarding purchase.
Never thought I'd be a top down kind of guy. I actually had 996 dead in my sights until I test drove a 986. All the features at half the buy in? I was sold. I am fully aware of the storage a 911 has. I had moved at least 4 times using only my 911. Keeping the headliner, sun roof and rear windows clean and working, never really justified the "seats". My gf at the time(now married) loved the Bay Area drives and sillyness of sports cars in general. She was 100% behind this Porsche purchase.
I lived in the Bay Area with the 911. I am Living with 986 here in the Pacific NW. Keeping it in the garage lately except for top down weekend rides with the wife and I budled to the max and grinning ear to ear. Enjoying the washing and detailing and modernness and "workingness" of it all.
Last year, I picked up the Boxster, married my lady, and bought a house. Now have a boy expected in March. Perhaps this is the car we'll restore.
We live near a race track here in Portland, OR. Lots of autocross and lots of track days. I'll be back here for questions, I'm sure.
So... Hello! Glad to be back.

Burning Brakes
Welcome!
I just swapped my '77 911 turbo for a Boxster and found very little on this forum for it. The only recommended upgrade is IMS and to keep in practice driving it.

Almost pulled the trigger on an 02' 986 s, same wheels, color, etc, but blue interior. Something about that flat 6 being strung out behind your head is amazing. Defiantly not a convertible guy, but something inside me still wants one of this, in a bad way.
Congrats on the car!
