Default Wheel Offsets 03 S

Sorry to put up yet another of the endless wheel offset threads - there are so many, in fact, that it is becoming difficult to research anymore. So, with that, my question is what are the offset ranges for front and rear wheels for an 03 S model? I am looking to get a set to put snow tires on (did a 180 this am on a cold road with what I thought were good all seasons). I have a line on 17" rims from an 02 non-S, but I don't have the offsets. The guy has another set too, from another Boxster. He will send me the info shortly, and I am trying to decide whether to pull the trigger.
Thanks!

Ed,

I am almost positive that the 17" wheels from an 02 base car will fit your S. The standard wheels on the 03 S were 17" and I don't think they made them with different offsets for the base and the S. If you don't get them, let me know cause I am sure they will fit my 01 S.

Agree with above.

Here's a link to a wheel offset calculator. You can use it to see how much the inner and outer portion of the rim will or will not move relative to your current set up.

Wheels from a base Boxster will fit fine. I run OEM 17 inch sport classics with winter tires on my '03 S. The fronts are a too little tucked in for my taste aesthetically, so I run spacers both front and rear- though again- this is not required

Here is a list of my wheels- sizes, offsets and spacer used. The only fitment that requires a spacer is the 911 spec rear 18x10's.

Winter:
OEM 17 inch Sport Classic
17x7 ET 55 205/50 23mm spacer
17x8.5. ET 50 255/40 14mm spacer

Street Summer:
OEM MY02 Carrera Lightweights
18x7.5 ET 50 235/40 14mm spacer
18x9 ET 52 265/35 14mm spacer

Track:
OEM MY02 Carerra Lightweights
18x8 ET 50 235/40 14mm spacer
18x10 ET 65 265/35 23mm spacer

I hope this is helpful.

-Eric

I run the OEM 5mm spacers and lug bolts also.

Offset on 986 base and S are the same for 17" wheels.
