Hi all..
Just watched this week's "Wheeler Dealers" featuring a 2000 Boxster S Tip which had set idle for 4 years.. (a re-run.)

Anyway, Mike the buyer snags a moldy but running 986 with a slipping Tip.... for a thousand British pounds !?

Edd the mechanic changes the tranny fluid/filter, re-lathes the discs, new Textar pads, restored the sport seats, changed out pumpkins and all new fluids... No mention of IMSB.

My questions as a 944 owner are:
- Do 986's actually sell for so much less in the UK?
- Can one fit a carry-stand golf bag in the boot?
- Is anything on "reality television" actually real?

Edd can do anything for cheap the first time, that typical of any mechanic you know? Do they ever show a car were they find expensive problems and take a loss?

And all they want to show is selling it on and how brilliant they are. Not how they do all the things that should be done for the long term longevity of the car. Plus they generally have no specialized knowledge of what those things are for a specific car. They don't go back to the car 2 years on and see how the owner feels.

It is TV.....

German luxury cars depreciate massively in the UK. That's definitely still below the market price there but the cars are not worth nearly as much as they are over here.

Saw that! He got a better deal than I just did None of what those guys do is real (speaking about value), but it's fun to watch. If you factor in the labor they put into any car they've ever bought, there is no way they make a dime!
