The airbag light in the '06 Boxster S belonging to a good friend came on, is this a DIY fix or does he need to take it to the dealer? Thanks.

Local mechanic in Atlanta (Franz Blam) tells me he can't even fix these with his electronic tools - they make it where you have to take it to the dealer. Recently this happened to one of my older BMW's, and the dealer said that the airbag computer had to be replaced. It was about $ 1,000.

on gen11 cars the light will come on if the seat is too far rearward,do not know if this applies to gen1.
