Faced with a similar choice I went the newer model. The glass window was the deciding factor, combined with the pin 18 mod, means the roof can be put down whilst driving without the chop (perfect for driving around town and along the beach here in Australia). For a UK buyer, not such as issue as you'd be more likely to be putting the top UP because of sudden rain, which you can do with the plastic rear window just as well as the glass once the pin 18 mod is done.
