Default Can I use 17" wheel from a 987 on my 986?

I recently found a good deal on a set of 17" wheels with snow tires but they are listed as being from a 987 Boxster or Cayman. The bolt pattern is the same as on my 986, but the wheel size is different. The wheel and tire sizes are as follows:

Front: tires 205/55 R17 wheels 6.5 55

Rear: tires 235/50 R17 wheels 8 40

can these be made to fit around the larger "S" brakes with spacers and longer wheel bolts? If so, what sizes would I need and any recommendation on brands?

I currently have on the car the following:

Front: tires 225/40 ZR18 wheels 7.25 50

Rear: tires 265/35 ZR18 9 52

Thanks in advance for your help!

This an update to the above...the rear wheels don't seem to pose any problem, but the fronts do not quite clear the red calipers on my "S". It seems that spacers of 1/4" to 3/8" would do the trick. If I went that route would it be recommended to use equal spacers on the rear wheels even though they would not be required to clear the brakes?

I'd say try it. Wider track in front would likely help dial out inherent understeer. Might look funny but give it a shot.
