Stereo Upgrades
I am not too familiar with the boxster or 911. I have a 951 myself.
My dad has said the speakers in his car sound "weak". What new the most common upgrades for the Boxster S?

I replaced my dash speakers with Alpines and would recommend the swap...big improvement at a low cost.
The PNP rear speaker kit I also installed I can't recommend. For the cost, the sound quality is unacceptable. I think it is a matter of relatively cheap speakers being spec'ed by the provider (to ensure some profit margin), even given the limitations of a 3.5" diameter driver. I'm probably going to replace the speaker elements, as soon as I can figure out what makes sense...maybe a 4X6 can be made to fit or it makes sense to install a separate tweeter and a 3.5" mid range, instead of the four 3.5" "two ways" provided?

As Mike has said.
The Becker Grand Prix with usb/iPhone input with rear speakers is a big improvement.
The Grand Prix also has an interesting bluetooth interface with last dialed/received numbers..
I am sure that there are better systems as you do need to adjust the bass/treble/loudness to acheive a good result for different types of music.

Directioneng, it made me laughwhen I saw your pic with the cd storage. I have the exact same one. That is what really dates the interior!
I always said, a car is just not the right environment for cd's. Some sort of hard drive is much better, non-mechanical drive, like a flash drive, even better.
