convertible roof catch on window

convertible roof catch on window
Can anyone help by telling if the coils which the bolts go into are supposed to be split. If they are not and there is a way of fixing this please let me know thanks. My problem is that when the roof is shut and I try to latch it on the unit comes away from the window.
