Default Need help with a horn problem

Hi All,
Just recently my '99 Box's horn had been going off when I brake really hard an when going around tight turns. Also the horn goes off when I barely touch the center. any thoughts to a fix? Can I pop off the center cover without activating the airbag? I did the side panels ok. Any insite to this would be greatly appreciated.

Air bag retaining frame probably needs to be replaced. The grommets in the frame that are used for activating the horn have failed (worn out) thus the frame must be replaced. Very common.

Hi Laura. Yes you are correct. I searched the forums and found out how others fixed this. I took it apart and put foam in where the grommets are, giving the frame more resistance. Let's see how long my fix will last. If it craps out again I can now fix it in about a 1/2 hour.

I put stiff foam in the top corners of the airbag and it fixed the horn, no more embarrasing horn honking when braking. seems like it should work for quite a while.
