OK, so last night I went to a Porsche unveiling at Grand Central Station (that's in NYC) where they had a Carerra GT, an original 550 Spyder and the new Boxster on display.
Inside this gorgeous little spyder on the passenger side was this contraption with what looked like a handle or something, and it was very much attached to the frame of the car. None of us could figure out what this thing was, so I'm putting it to the forum to see if anyone knows. Have a look, and I'm sorry that I can't get these pix right side up

Perhaps just a handle to help get in and out of the car? I have no idea what it could be aside from that.
