We got my lovely girlfriend an '02 Boxster with Tiptronic transmission and I must say - I was very surprised at the performance of the auto trans! In manual mode it's quick off the line in 1st, holds gear right up to rev limit and then up-shifts quite smoothly. Down-shifting in manual is nice too. When in full auto mode the transmission seems very intuitive. Hard on throttle and it holds gear until just the right moment for up-shift. Or seamless shifting when you're just tooling around.
The second surprise was the shop invoice I found in the owners manual. At 34,000 miles, before taking delivery, a previous owner identified some issues and the Porsche dealership repaired or replaced...
muffler, serviced transmission, roof strut, front pads and rotors, rear pads, one door speaker, intake filter, cabin filter, rear emblem and motor oil/filter.
That's a lot of service that would have had to been done sooner or later! Money in the bank![Cool](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif)
This car now has 55,000 miles, looks and runs great! Pictures as soon as we get a decent day to take a few.
