Hi,
I'm a brand new 1999 Porsche boxster owner. I purchased my car 2 months ago with 77k miles. Over the last 2 months I have loved the feel and drive of the car, but a couple of problems are driving me crazy.
The first is that the interior lights on the car will not turn on when the car is not running. With the car on, all the lights turn on fine.
The second problem is that that the key fob does not open the front or rear trunks. It will unlock the doors and that is all. The key fob is brand new and was programmed by a local Porsche specialist.
After purchasing the car I found out that due to blocked drainge plugs, the car suffered water damage, and the anti-theft unit under the drivers seat was replaced. Could Improper programming of this unit be a cause of my problems?
Thanks for the help

Yes, it could be.
I have the Durametric diagnostic tool and one of the options on it, is to change the setting on the alarm system.
I will check for you tomorrow if the setting includes the specific functions you are talking about, and will post here the results.

Some cars have a "transport mode" to prevent battery discharge during shipping. I've read some threads that say a Boxster can somehow go into transport mode and then certain functions don't work. I think it's a very quick fix at a dealer but I don't know if a Durametric can change this setting.
