I was stunned at how much punishment the little boxster took
- tore off a front wheel
- damaged radiator & coolant loss

..........and it still kept going !

Inter mediate shaft(bearing). Do a search and you'll witness the extensive discussion on this and other forums. Sorry, I thought you were joking. It's an issue with the 996 engines and Boxsters as well.

Stupid kid treat a Boxster that way and endanger others.
Was the car an S? I figure it must have been the front oil cooler that started the fire.

They don't have front oil coolers - only coolant and A/C rads....
