Default Is this the lowest mileage 97' Boxster?

This guy claims he has the lowest mileage 1997 Boxster in the country, anybody know one with less miles? Pretty sweet car (little overpriced) - http://globalautosports.com/car/1997...ble-38168.html

If anyone wants me to look at it this is in my hometown. I can run over and peruse the car for you. I'll even get on a cell call or video Skype if you want. Just PM me. I know the guy personally. He's a doc that used to have a 928. We have had many dinner conversations about Porsche. In fact, he told me about joining PCA.

Given the high production numbers, there's probably another one with lower mileage. Low mileage has been correlated to a higher occurance of IMS failures.

I am looking at a Boxster convertible (1999 with only 17 K on it!)....what things should I look for on this car, and how concerned should I be about the IMS situation?

IIRC, some all '98s and some '99s had slipped sleeved issues. Not sure if the "porous" blocks were a '97 only concern. IMS was less reported with the 2.5. When i looked for a Boxster, I specifically wanted a 2000 or newer. Unless spec boxster is your goal, look for the newest you can afford, as it tends to be better refined.

what a beautiful early boxter. I'd think you could find an early car with 300 miles on it if you looked hard enough though. The 928 group just found an 86 with 8k miles (?) on it? I'm sure with the quantity of boxsters made there are a lot sitting in yet undiscovered garages..
