Default A newbie and the redline....

Well I have certainly driven it like I stole it lately. Not sure but I might have redlined it in first gear. How much fudge is there in it? Does the computer show how much I have redlined it? If I have , is that a problem? No red lights fortunately on the panel. Any comments ? Runs great as usual.

A 986 has 2 ranges to the rev limiter. As a comparison, a 987 has 6 over rev ranges. Sounds like your hitting the the rev limiter in range #1. This is logged on your DME. The rev limiter does not protect you on a down shift or missed shift.

Shift sooner. There is little to be gained (and much to be risked) in wringing out the last couple hundred RPM's.
