I just snagged a silver 2011 Boxster Spyder. Took her out for the first time yesterday, but kept the rear glass windshield on. I was curious if any owner's drive without it? And if so, what's it like vs. with it? Thank you!

So I tried it without the window and it was great. More wind whirling about. But not too bad. Cheers.

Weird that so many GT3 owners also have Spyders.

Never tried it without the glass how do you remove it?

I've driven mine with the top on and the rear cover removed, a little more air movement inside the car and it gives you a nice exhaust note to listen too.

Thanks! Pretty stoked on it! Definitely better with top off and no rear window. It's easy to remove. push the top-bottons on the each side and it pops right out. The car should have came with a canvas cover to put it in and stow.

My only complaints are 1.) fly wheel could be a bit lighter to allow faster shifts and 2.) the gearing is too long. However, it is so fun to drive. More fun than my RS was on the street. I wouldn't track it though.

Thanks for the explanation on how to remove the rear windblock. Now that you mention it, there is a canvas piece in the trunk which looks like it is similar in size. I had no idea what it was for so I left it in the trunk.

I have a 2003 Boxster S. Does anyone know of any aftermarket spyder tops available for a 986? You know, something like the 2011-12 Spyder top -- more open, simple and stretched over the roll bar with (red) anchor hooks in the back.
