Default "lobster claw" wheels on 986 boxster?

Has anyone done it?

Love these wheels and their size. I think they would look great on my car. I don't know about fitment, however.

Has anyone seen these guys on a 986 Boxster?

I have seen it done on a 986S, I don't remember if he had to use spacers or not tho.
It did look very nice on the car, original looking but better. Filled out the wheelwell very nicely too.

I had seen your post earlier so was paying attention. Just took these pics 20 minutes ago at Stevens Creek Porsche, just for you! It's a 987 but gives you the idea.

How wide and what offset are the wheels you're looking at? I have 8" + 10" on my 986s. With spacers. I was told that's as wide as you can go with this car.

Hope this helps.

Nice pics!

Oddly enough I just saw the exact same combo yesterday (987s with lobster claw wheels) and it looked great.

So I know now that they'll fit the 987, so hopefully with some spacers they'd also fit the 986.

I agree. I think they look great on a Boxster.

I think they look good on the Boxster.

Also btw I think it's lobster fork.

And the bonus is that they are one of the lightest wheels from Porsche!

So I am looking at a set of these for my 97 Boxster. Will they fit my car or do I need to add spacers? Thanks in advance.

Also I think these wheels look great. I’m trying to find out if I can fit them to my 2003 986 Boxster but get contradicting responses. Do you have to use spaces for these wheels I’m looking to get them in 18 if possible? Has anyone else had this issue? Thank you Joe

I've never seen five claws on a Lobster, but I have seen five forks around a Lobster. Nuff said.

Ugliest wheels Porsche has made (fact)

Carrera II lights are the best OEM of that era by far (opinion)

I couldn't agree more. Gorgeous wheels and likely the easiest to keep clean. No nooks & crannies and wide open 5 spoke design allows cleaning of the 'barrels' as well as the brake callipers.

Then again I may be biased since these are what I have on my Boxster.

The reference to lobster forks has nothing to do with there being 5 spokes. It's because each spoke becomes to 2 thin spokes at the end of each spoke like a lobster fork.
I agree though, everyone wants to dive in and share the lobster! Delicious!

Yea, I know. My comment was a joke. The age old Lobster forks vs. Lobster claws has been going on for a long time on these forums. Ironically, the original Porsche wheel brochure they released for these wheels doesn't even call them Lobster anything. That whole thing started outside of Porsche more than likely on the forums or clubs.
