Default Boxilla at the track.

For those of you that haven't taken your Boxster to the track, you have no idea how much fun you are missing out on. Here are a few photos taken this past weekend at Sebring. I have the white helmet. The other person in the car is Chris Hall, a pro driver who I hired to coach me. His best time in my car was 2:32. My best time was 2:36. This car is an absolute monster in the twisties. I do wish it had a few more ponies under the bonnet.

Christian, you are the one that got me thinking about the Boxster. One ride with you back in the day was all it took to make me realize that my GT3 wasn't all that. I have way more confidence taking this car to the edge than I ever did with the "3". When this car starts slipping, it seems so easy to keep it under control. (knock on wood, or I'll end up spinning next time-LOL). I was able to control the start of a spin coming through 17 this past weekend, (among a few other places on the track) and looking back on it, there wasn't much anxiety involved. A little countersteer, and all was good again!

I still lust for the the 3 but at my time in life with college looming Ill stick with the demi-cup and yes they are easy to go sorta fast. Like all things its takes soooooo much more effort to get those last few ticks.

Sounds like you are having fun, Best.

the PCA events around here are the best - $325 for two days with classroom + your own private instructor + a fantastic course walk, plus of course all the usual carousing and **** talking at the bar afterwards.

I was already to do a trackday this weekend, or so I thought. Apparently i'm too tall for my roll bar. Do you use the B-K extension?

Yes I do use the B-K extender bar. I'm 6'3" and even with that bar I'm a bit nervous. I'm thinking of making this a dedicated track car in which case I'll put a cage in it.

The trick to beating the broom stick test is a racing seat. It takes me about an hour to remove my seats and install the Momo and belts. You are much more secure in the car and if you are lapping the track at the speeds we are you should be in a 6 point harness.

I have GT3 seats. Would a racing seat mount lower?

not really. you do have some mounting options, though. you can do away with your sliders & get the brey krause low mounts for the gt3 seat; that gets you about 1.5". you can get about 2" below that if you cut the mounts out of the floor & replace w/ some custom weldements.
