Default Boxster Spyder Hardtop by speedART

speedART has developed an aerodynamically optimized winter/waterproof hardtop for Porsche's special addition Boxster Spyder.

The lightweight fiberglass top with a scratch resistant Makrolon rear window weighs in at 23.4kg and is paintable in all colors (Pictured in a matte black finish). The top's interior is sound absorbing due to the absorbent matting and quilted Alcantera headliner.

The installation is easy using the original locking mechanism in addition to holder plates and screw cap at the anti-roll bar. The unit stores in Porsche's standard hardtop panel stand.

Shipping Dimensions are 80cm x 140cm x 160cm

The Boxster Spyder hardtop is a special order item that is made to order.

Looks like a really nice solution, should one need more serious protection from the elements.

A while back I got a ride in the new Spyder on Texas World Speedway, with a proffessional race driver behind the wheel. What a car!!! Handling and turn in outperform any 911/996/997, and with the PDK, downshifting with built in throttle blipps was intoxicating. The excitement came to a halt on the main straight, the Spyder should easily do 140mph on the long TWS main straight, but the driveer held back at excactly 120mph. Why? Because the flimsy "tent" would be ripped to pieces, Porsche only guaranties it up to 120mph.
So finally here is a solution for DE and race drivers, who want to explore the Spyder to the limit. The new hard top looks good, but not great. Personally I would have liked a Carrera GT look to the hard top, maybe in several pieces so it would fit in the front or rear trunk. I would think that there should be scace enough under the big rear lid. Would that be next?

Nice,
However I would really love the spyder chassis in a Cayman body. Solves all the track worries.
Until then....
