I'm new to porsche and am hoping someone can help. I have a 2001 Boxster S. I dropped the top a week ago and when I put it back up the warning light remains on, when I lower it the light goes off. The top closes securely and I drive the car that way the light is just annoying. I'm assuming it maybe be a bad or dirty contact. I've looked but didn't really see the contacts them selves. Can anyone provide info on a possible solution or repair? Thanks

Could be a bad control switch. IIRC, they are located under the console, next to the e-brake handle.

You may not be holding the button long enough. Hold it until you hear the motor completely stop - not just until you can latch the top down. That ensures the relay makes contact.

Yeah I had the same thing with my 02 Boxster S You gota hold that button about 5 seconds longer then you think you should and it will turn off.
