Default How much would you guys pay for...

2001 Boxster S w/69k miles, nicely optioned, 6sp, blue/tan, new brakes/rotors, new top, clean PPI, needs 4 new tires with a Salvaged title.
The car had a minor accident in the rear, professionally repaired- replacing the rear light, and rear bumper, no frame damage of any kind. Runs and drives very nice.

Thanks.

I would stay away from a salvage title. I never understood how a car can only have minor damage but still carry a salvage title. The damage as described should not have received a salvage title IMO so I wonder what really happen.

I suggest paying a little more and get one with a clean title. If you ever sell you will have a easier time selling.

He is asking 9500, so i doubt he would let it go for less than 7500

Depending upon the area and the prices to repair cars it may not take as much damage as you might think to total a car, even a car that has not received severe structural or running gear damage.

A 2001 S with nearly 70K miles... might not take much.

OTOH, I note my 02 Boxster 2.7l with over 200K miles was not totaled when hit from behind while I was waiting for a red light to change even though it required over $5K in repairs: front and rear bumper covers, some minor sheet metal straightening at the rear, one headlight and one taillight. Had the driver's side air bag gone off though, or had the damage involved the front and rear trunk lids...

Sincerely,

Macster.

My friend picked up a 2002 boxster S last year w/60k miles in excellent condition with a rebuilt title for $7500. It was in a minor accident but all repair work was done, so I'd offer $6.5-7k, see if he bites.
