Brought home a 2001 boxster S 2 days ago with no manual. Have the 10qts of 0-40 mobile 1 and the $25 filter from the porsche dealer and am all ready to give my new baby and oil change but cannot get the rear lid opened. On the left side of driver seat are 2 buttons the one for front lid works fine but with the rear lid nothing happens. Tried usung the key and remote sensor on dash lights up but neither front or back lid open. Never had a porsche before so this is all new to me. Can anyone shed some light? Would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Dennis

Who did you buy it from? I would go back to them and make them open it.

0. get new battery for key. is a cr2032 or 2025 i believe 5 bucks and may solve the opening problem.. easy to replace google it..
1. definitely need a manual.. dealer can get it or any of the shops online.. sunset, etc... just google it.
2. check all the fuses in the panel on the left of the pedals... there is an actuator that opens the rear trunk. could be the fuse is burned out or the motor burned in the actuator... in emergency there is a cable you can pull in the drivers side rear wheel well I believe (remove the driver's side rear tire, Iremove one nut from the wheel well cover closest to the back of the car, look inside and see cable. The wheel well cover could be pulled back enough to fit hand in, reached in and pull)
