I believe this color is called Zanzibar Red. I have seen it on a 996 and it is a cool color!

Yep looks like Zanzibar Red (orange)
Offered in 2001, 2002, & 2003
Nice color and pretty rare, I've only seen one Zanzibar Boxster here in Toronto.
