I have a 99 boxster. Had a dead battery, replaced the battery. I had to get the serial number from the radio to get the radio code. I put the radio code in twice and it didn't take. Then the wait screen came up. so i unhook the battery and rehooked it up. I put the radio code in again and it took.

Now the car wont start. The key will turn on and all the lights in the cluster will light but then when you turn to start position nothing happens, no click, no nothing.

Shop says theres a fault in the alarm contol unit saying terminal 86 s is not present. And this is causing it not to start.

Anyone got any ideas as to what would cause this or how to fix it????

Assuming this is a US/Canada manual transmission car, the usual suspect is the clutch switch. Try moving the clutch pedal as you try and crank the engine.
