Default Falls Church Va Top Replacment

I have a 98 Boxster, and this morning I discovered that my rear window had seperated from the top. OH GREAT! As this is already a replacement, I decided to get a glass rear window.
What I need to know. is does anyone know or recommend someone to replace my top I can purchase one on ebay for about $700. so I'll probably buy it myself. HELP.

You could do it yourself.
Not that hard. Do a search and you will find others that made a DIY.
Or if you aren't into that check out some boat upholstery shops. They will do it. Should only be about $400 for the install.

Might also check some of the aftermarket top sites as some no doubt encourage "local shops" to do their installs.

One thing I read about the plastic window tops being replaced with glass window tops is was either harder to get the top into "service" position or simply access the engine compartment. Something to consider.

Would it be possible for a shop to simply resew the existing window? I can't remember the name right now, but I am reminded that there is a place near Tysons corner that did Boxster top work for someone i know.

Both recommended as a place that can do plastic rear window replacements sometime in the past on online forums somewhere

I used to work at Porsche of Tysons and we used Lims. I think it's about $500 out the door to have the new window sewn in. I would not recommend a $700 ebay top because you'll end up with fitment issues.

Werkstatt in Charlottesville take off tops to make Spec Boxsters. They had several in the shop and you could probably pick one up at a good price.
