Default 2007 Boxster - Water drains ?

Hi

My car just stopped working completely - DEAD - Had it towed to a Porsche dealer and they said there was water behind the driver seat that killed the control pattern b/c the " Drains" were clogged and I have to pay several $$$$ to fix. Help - Who knew there were drains & would that not be a DEFECT ? --- email: Elitemgts@aol.com

I am sure somewhere in the several hundred of pages of Operators manual is information about this. Essentially, as you learned, the drains clogged and water saturated the computer that sits under the drivers seat.

not that you will feel better, but I imagine a "search" on a Boxster board for this issue will yeild answers.

It is NOT a defect.. it is, as the kids say "user error"

do you have the dealer service the vehicle. Part of the service is cleaning out the drains.

I check the drains on my 986 for debris every time I wash the car.

It only takes a couple of minutes.
