Your link is not working.

Are these totally plug and play or do they require an additional control unit and wiring?

thanks, the link is fixed. Complete plug and play. headlights popout with hex wrench in the toolkit (one fastener), and then unplug the light and the litronic headlight goes in the same way.

In the future, you must be a Rennlist member to post for sale items, thanks.

I have the factory retrofit Litronics, and they are definitely not plug-and-play if yours didn't have Litronics to begin with.

If you have Litronics, the non-Litronic lights will be plug-and-play.

Mine 986 does not have the factory Litronics. Are these plug and play or not?

I was under the understanding that the Lits on the Mk I 996 and all 986's are plug and play.

Is that not correct?

Ok, this is going to come out wrong, but I don't mean it too....

But what is so great about litronics?

I have them on my CTT, not on my 986.

The Litronics are very nice in that they are much brighter than the standard haolgen units. You can get brighter bulbs but there is a danger of going with a higher wattage, so I wouldn't do that.

That being said, I don't really find the headlights on my 986 dim by any stretch of the imagination. I live on a county road with no streetlights so I do wind up using my high beams on the way home at night, but that's what they're for, right?

With the CTT, the funny thing is that the stock fog lamps are halogen and look very yellow in comparison to the litronics. One of the first mods I did was to change out to a "blue white" bulb on the fog lights.

There are a ton of other things I would do to my Boxster before going to litronics.

Current mods:

Upgraded stereo, rear speakers, new amp, etc.
Clear side markers
MP3 connector in glove compartment
"Sport" Exhaust System

Mods under consideration before litronics:

New front bumper/front grills
Racing seats, harness
Fire Extinguisher mount
Lighter Rims
"Big Red" brake package
3rd Radiator
V1 Stealth Mount
