Rear Spolier with Aerokit Fitted

I have just been told by my local Porsche service centre that my rear retractable spoiler hasn’t been working for the last 6 years!!!
My mark 1 986 Boxster has a factory fitted aerokit installed, including the rear wing. I have assumed ever since owning the car that the rear wing was disabled due to the addition of the rear wing. To me this makes sense but I could be wrong
Can anyone let me know is the rear retractable spoiler should be working or should it be disabled, with the installation of the aerokit rear wing.

with the aerokit 1 (iirc) it was to be disabled, I think by simply removing the fuse, with the aerokit 2 it was to be disabled and removed, as aerokit 2 came with a new trunk lid that extended rearward to cover where the spoiler was
