My 98 986 2.5 was doing very nicely when I worked for a Porsche Dealer in New York. I moved to Va to be with the woman I love, and before I knew it, I got the phone call!!! "Honey, all the lights came on, and antifreeze is pouring out the bottom of your car!" Anyway. we had it towed home, and I checked things out. It seems the power steering isn't working, and apparently that happened before the car over heated. The car has 98,000 miles on it, and as far as I know, the drive belt has never been changed.
I guess what I'm asking is would the belt going away cause overheating? And is there anything else I should look at?![surrender](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/surrender.gif)

First guess is the coolant pump either seized or the pulley hub broke off, loosing the serpentine belt and then all the lights came on (because the alternator and power streering pump weren't being driven).
Did it overheat? If your S.O turned the car off, then it's unlikely.
Probably need coolant pmp, belt and all the belt tensioner pullies (they wear out) . If the coolant tank has not been changed, budget for that too.
