18inch speedlines on 01 S
Hi all,
I wonder if anyone could share his experience using 18 inch wheels; offset front 45, rear 50 on a boxster S my 01 (nice 3 piece speedlines ).
Would I need spacers is the big question i guess...
Thanks!

Car is at my local P. specialist, will check. I'm a bit uninformed about all the variables involved...
The offset in combination with the width will clarify if this will work on a 986S I take it ?
Thanks

My boxster came with 18's.. 7.5x18 front and 9x18 rear. The 9's had, iirc, a 52mm offset. I think some challange with 10's and wider in the rear are 1) hitting the springs on the inside and/or 2) hitting the outside fenderlip. What size tires will you be using? 265? 285? even larger?

I've just recently figured this out, since I just added this 01 S to my garage. If those are the 18 inch speedlines that i've seen before they should be 10s. It is hard to get anything bigger than 265s on 10 inch wheels under a Boxster, but it can be done depending on the tolerances of wheels and tires. i have 275 35s on 18 x 9s, but they won't work on 18 x 10s. Anything other than stock suspension could also cause you issues. i am going to put 18 x 10s with 265 35s as soon as these tires wear out. The new wheels have an ET 65mm offset, so I bought 17mm spacers from the dealer. The parts guy said they would work with the 2 piece lightweight BBS wheels, but I am sort of eliminating the weight advantage by using spacers and 2 pocketsful of nuts and bolts. The wheels are just too nice not to use them though. I should try to find someone to trade the 996 wheels for Boxster sizes, but I may want to use them on the 996 at some point. Spacers can take me one way but not the other.
