Default Pictures of my 2000 Boxster S

Just bought a 2000 Boxster S. The car seems to be in nearly perfect condition with 27,000 miles. RMS issue was addressed and replaced at 23K. It has the Porsche sport exhaust, which sounds nice, but fairly tame. It could be twice as loud and still wouldn't be too loud for me. But it sure does look cool.

The car drives so nicely. Way more connected feeling than my previous 3.2 Carreras or my 1996 993 C2. This is going to be a very fun car, and I can't wait to start enjoying it. It is a bit cramped for me, but I am a giant at 6' 4" and 250 lbs.

Congratulations!

Really nice.

I wish my car had that exhaust when I picked it up. In adition to the intake, the sound must be intoxicating.

Funny you mention being a tight fit in the Boxster. When I was knee deep in Porsche shopping, I had my hand on a 964 C2 that was rebuilt by a race shop in Georgia. A local PCA guy (thanks Harold) gave me a ride in his 964 to situate me mentally into this car. Afterwards, I drove a friends Boxster. While I was so stoked by the 964, I just felt so much less cramped in the 986.

The feeling behind the wheel accented my feeling. I just felt so much more comfortable in the 986, and I too am not a tooth pick. I am 6'2" 210lbs.

I bought the 986S.

Like I said in another post, I went to sport cats to get it even louder. But, I also have the 2003 PSE which is already louder than the 2000 PSE that you have. One thing you may want to do, if that is a factory installed PSE is to disconnect the vacuum hoses going to the exhaust pipe valves. You will find the valves connected to those Sebring pipes under the car. This will cause the bypass to be running at all times. It will make it louder at low RPMs. If you do that, you should plug the vacuum hoses. You don't need to do anything to the valve end. I don't know where those hoses originate. Maybe you can just get a cap for those outlets, wherever they are.

I installed mine and just did the exhaust. I do have all the vacuum pipes and bits necessary to do the full installation. But, since it is only there for sound control in countries where there are noise regulations, I don't need them.

Consider adding GT3 seats if you want more headroom / legroom. I have 'em in my 2000 Boxster S.

Default Yours looks like a twin of mine!

Mine looked very alike when I bought her one year ago also with PSE:

Now she looks a little different:

Congrats for a great looking car!
