Question Failure Indicator in temp gauge

On my commute this morning my temperature gauge had a flashing red square and the message "failure indicator". Another warning appeared in the center of the dash with what looked like a water temp or level indicator. This happened about a mile from work, right after I had stopped at a stop sign.
The temperature gauge now shows "0" degrees so I assume that maybe the temp gauge failed. I plan on calling the Porsche service department later but wanted to check and see if anyone else has seen this.
The car was on warranty until last week (April 6). What timing! Thanks in advance for any info.

Well I called service and arranged to have them look at the car tomorrow. When I got out of work, I started the car and it still showed the same message. When I got on to the interstate and got up to speed, the message disappeared and everything looks normal. I made 3 stops on the way home and each time everything seems fine. The temp gauge shows a normal reading. I'll guess I'll just keep an eye on it.
