Windows won't go up
99 boxster, with the top up the windows won't go up past the 3 inches open position used for opening/closing the top. The windows will go down.
With the top down, the windows will go all the way up and down.
It's as if it thinks the top is not fully closed. But it is fully closed.
Any ideas ?

first thing I'd do is check the micro-switch in the roof latch hole, with the top down what happens when you push it in with your finger?
if nothing I'd guess you have a bad or loose switch, the windows should go up when you push the switch in

Thanks
yes it was the micro switch. It is not fully depressing. I needed a quick fix to get the car mobile and dry out of the rain, so I wrapped the latch in couple layers of electric tape to build it taller thus depressing the switch further.
It works until I have time to make a proper fix.
