Jet washed car, (boxster 2.7 2001)put roof down, went for drive, turned engine off, put roof up, went to start car about 5 minutes after but car would not start, all the lights flick on and off randomly and the windows go up and down with any turn of the key. Has anybody experienced any similar problems with electrics after washing their car? If I get a auto electrician to look at this are they able to diagnose the problem from their computers?

 

have you cleaned the drains under the roof recently?

if I had to guess I'd bet you got water under the seats and into the computer

is it damp down there? are the drains clogged with anything?

 

The thing is about jet sprayers is that they can get water into places you don't want it. Some people get too aggressive and spray up under the car into the motor cavity and soak the ignition wires etc.

But like Stump said, check under the seats.
