Default Boxster Hardtop

Where do you get that hardtop that makes the Boxster look like a Cayman?

Thanks.

Looks like a great idea. Two cars for the price of one and a hardtop. (OK, without the performance, in the case of my 01 Box)

Anyone got one of these? How has it worked out?

How the heck do you protect the rear trunk lid, and get access to the rear trunk?

I know it looks cool, but for what they charge you can buy a regular factory boxster hardtop AND a 944.

It does look cool but it's not practical unless you leave the top on for a long time. It involves removing the rear trunk lid!

.
I just read the instructions, you have to remove the cabrio roof cover as well as the rear boot lid (trunk for USA readers)

They advise an afternoon with a froend for the change.....takes the gloss off a little.

They already make a Boxster hardtop, it is called a Cayman. You can buy them at your local Porsche dealer.

Why would you want to make your Boxster look like something else? If you like the Cayman better, why not just trade up ? I'm with o2fly on this one.

I agree, especially regarding the Cayman style roof. I don't have any hard top but if it was my only car, I'd probably want a regular hard top for the winter. As it is, I only drive it on clean and dry roads in the winter to avoid the salt infested slop here in the NE.

The hard top gives you the best of both worlds - a coupe in winter and a cabrio in the summer.

The only question is if you want to pose as a cayman in winter?

Well considering you can get a nice used Boxster for cheap nowadays, add on $5k for the hardtop and I think it's a nice alternative to the Cayman. Used Caymans are still expensive.
