Default Flywheels

I'm thinkin about a new lw.flywheel due to vibrations at 3000 rpm but . But since I have a 2,7 i'm not sure which parts that fits to my engine.
Some aftermarket lwf:s fits all engines (same part number) 2,5 2,7 and 3,2
but others only fit the 3,2 or 2,5.
Is there a difference between those parts or can it be interchanged.

Don't use a stock disc with a lightweight flywheel. Use a spring centered clutch disc.

Todd, any recommendations? I've been eyeing the SPEC clutches.

To cope with the torque, I've put a spec stage 2 setup on my 3.6X51 that is going in my boxster. I don't know of anyone else who offers a sprung disc for the boxster.

Nice pics!

Did the gear chatter disappear when you used a spring loaded clutch?

Thanks! I think the SPEC clutches got some early bad press, but glad to hear they are working out on Boxsters. I'm most interested in their stage 2+ with Aasco LWFW. I am not particularly impressed with the OE setup and have put in Centerforce dual-friction in other cars I've had.

There was one other company that has/had sprung clutches for our cars. 'karlooz' put one in his supercharged 996. I think it was a ClutchMasters, but I don't see an application for ours on their website anymore.

Thanks, again, for your posts. I sense a 3.8L is in my future if Porsche won't offer one.

All I know is that the stock setup cannot handle the torque of the 3.6 that is currently in my car so I knew it wouldn't work with the X51.

I'll let you know. I'm sure it won't eliminate it, but if you use a solid faced stock disc with the aluminum flywheel you have absolutely no dampening.

Unless you have made some huge power upgrades to your car, I think a stage 2+ will be overkill. Won't be that streetable either. Spec only recommended the stage 2 for my car to handle the torque, if it wasn't a daily driver, only then did they recommend a stage 2+.
